Fraudulent text messages using Northbridge Insurance name

We have been made aware of recent fraudulent text messages sent using the Northbridge Insurance name. The messages were randomly sent to individuals, including those who are not insured by Northbridge, stating that their policy would be cancelled if the recipient didn’t take immediate action.

We would like to remind customers and brokers that if a policy were to be cancelled, we would not initiate contact via text message. We would not ask policyholders to provide, confirm or verify personal, financial, login or account information through text message or unsolicited phone call.

What to do if you receive a suspicious text message (“smishing”):

  • Do not reply
  • Do not click on the link
  • Do not call or text any phone numbers included in the message

If you’re a policyholder and have received such a message, please report it to your broker. If you’re a broker, please contact your Business Development Manager.
